Fall Redfish in Cedar Key

Its that time of year folks! The weather is cooling off, college football is in full swing and the redfish are biting! Fall on the nature coast is truly a special time of year. There is no doubt that fall is the best time to catch big redfish on fly and top-water plugs in cedar key. The water has begun to cool down and with that we have had huge pushes of big, hungry redfish.

For the fly angler, the cleaner waters of the outer islands of the Cedar Key area provide excellent sight fishing opportunities for Redfish, Trout and the occasional Snook. These fish can be found pushing up and down the shorelines hunting for food and will willingly hit flies.

The top-water and artificial bight has been on fire in the tidal creeks and bays surrounding Cedar Key. I have had awesome success with my anglers this month, putting up some very good numbers.

If you’re looking to experience Florida redfishing the way it should be, look no further than my guided trips out of Cedar Key. My anglers are always so surprised when they fish an entire day without seeing another boat and are pleased to see a coastline so untouched by man. Whether you want to fly fish out of Cedar Key or watch an explosive eat on a top-water, the Guide Company has you covered.
